Zombie Poem

I watched It lurching up the grounds,
and It wore my brother's skin.
Its jawbone flapped like a curtain
in the harsh October wind.
Its rags were soiled and bloody,
and Its right leg dragged behind.
Its arms stretched out before It
as It trudged the slow incline.
Its eyes were dead, its cheeks sunk in,
Its teeth had rotted loose.
It appeared my brother's flesh
had been wearing down from use.
I watched It lurch up to the house,
and It wore my brother's skin.
The gun was loaded at my side --
I didn't think it would get in ...
